Job summary

Carr, Riggs & Ingram is seeking a Tax Intern for Spring 2027 in New Bern, NC. The role supports preparing work papers, trial balances, depreciation schedules, and gathering data for tax return preparation, under supervision.

You will gain hands-on experience with client files and tax libraries while collaborating with staff. Applicants must be accounting majors, possess good communication skills, and be able to work both independently and in teams.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university with a major in accounting.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Familiarity with MS Office (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability and willingness to work cooperatively with others.
• High degree of discretion dealing with confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing work papers, trial balances, depreciation schedules, and engagement correspondence.
• Assist professional staff in gathering data for tax return preparation and maintaining client tax and auditing files.
