Job summary

Purvis Gray’s Tax Internship in Tallahassee offers accounting students hands-on experience with real client work, supervised by tax professionals. You’ll contribute to a variety of engagements and build essential technical and professional skills for public accounting.

During the internship, you’ll prepare individual, corporate, and fiduciary returns, assist with projections, research tax questions, and learn current tax software and workflows in a team-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an accounting degree or equivalent.
• Intends to meet CPA licensure requirements after graduation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare individual, business, and fiduciary tax returns and related workpapers under supervision.
• Assist with tax projections, estimates, and client planning activities.
• Use current tax software to complete work accurately and efficiently.
• Research tax questions and summarize findings for review.
• Organize and review client information for completeness and accuracy.
• Communicate with team members regarding assigned work, questions, and deadlines.
• Handle sensitive client information with professionalism and integrity.
• Participate in training, team meetings, and other opportunities to learn about tax and public accounting.
• Complete additional projects and assignments to support client service and professional development.
