Job summary

Lavine Lofgren Morris & Engelberg Llp seeks a paid internship in public accounting in San Diego, CA. The role runs January 19–April 15, 2027 with at least 20 hours/week and flexible scheduling. You will learn client relations, tax return preparation, and professional workflows while gaining hands-on experience and training.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a BS or MS in accounting or taxation and eager to learn, with strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple projects.

Qualifications

• Candidates pursuing a BS or MS in accounting or taxation.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Detail- and goal oriented with time management.
• Willingness and desire to learn.
• Knowledge of MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).

Responsibilities

• Gain hands-on experience in professional client relations within a public accounting setting.
• Learn the software and tools used to prepare client returns.
• Gain understanding of IRS code and preparation of individual, business and trust tax returns.
• Learn complete tax return workflow from inquiry to completion.
• Develop time management and ability to handle multiple projects.
• Participate in weekly meetings, panels, lunches and trainings.
