Job summary

RSM US LLP is seeking a candidate for our CIM group focused on Federal Credits and Incentives (FCI). This internship-style role involves supporting tax planning, research, and engagement activities related to the R&D credit and other federal incentives.

You will assist with client interviews, data gathering, and drafting memoranda while learning the business landscape of our clients. Travel to client locations is required, and a BA/BS in progress with an accounting major is preferred.

Qualifications

• 90 credit hours completed
• Working towards BA/ BS degree or equivalent from accredited university
• Accounting Major
• Travel to assigned client locations is required. Must have access to and ability to arrange for use of reliable modes of transportation to those locations
• A minimum 3.0 GPA is preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Ability to work effectively on a team
• Ability to work and multitask in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• Assist with tax planning and research, as it relates to the Research and Development (R&D) credit, and other federal credits and incentives.
• Assist in implementing multiple projects simultaneously, which include client interviews, computations, analysis, data gathering, and coordination of resources
• Assist with drafting opinion letters and writing other technical memoranda
• Develop an understanding of client's business
• Help drive the success of multiple R&D, or federal credits engagements
• Maintain competency through continuing education and obtaining additional professional certifications
