BPM LLP is seeking a Tax Intern to work alongside experienced tax professionals across diverse industries, including Blockchain, Financial Services, Real Estate, and Nonprofit. You will gain exposure to tax returns, work papers, and regulatory guidance in a collaborative, coach-supported environment.

This paid internship offers part-time start in January 2027 with a 30-hour per week schedule February–April, plus opportunities to pursue CPA licensure and grow as a lifelong learner within BPM's

Qualifications

• GPA of 3.0+ in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or Economics; expected graduation 2026–2029.
• Pursuing or planning CPA licensure.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Availability to start January 7, 2027 and work at least 30 hours/week Feb–April; part-time in BPM offices (Irvine, Las Vegas, Long Beach, San Francisco, San Jose, Santa Monica, Santa Rosa, or Walnut Creek).
• Compassionate, proactive, authentic, driven, and resilient lifelong learners.

Responsabilités

• Apply critical analysis to data, preparing meticulous work papers and tax returns per professional standards for diverse entities and individuals.
• Identify, research, and evaluate complex tax issues; provide insights to seniors and managers.
• Maintain knowledge of tax laws and regulations, including IRS guidelines and court precedents.
• Develop skills through training, stay updated on accounting/tax standards, pursue relevant certifications (CPA).
• Engage in regional intern events, executive speaker sessions with firm partners, and collaborate on a project with fellow interns.
• Champion sustainable workplace practices by supporting remote-first operations and paperless workflows.
• Follow the stated schedule: January 20 hours/week; February–April 30 hours/week.
