Job summary

CNO Financial Group, Inc. is hiring a Tax Intern to support our Tax associates with day-to-day work within the department.

This paid internship offers professional experience, with the Memorial Day and 4th of July holidays paid, and a flexible work environment that may allow remote work from any US-based location while hours align with Central or Eastern Time. The internship runs May 17 through August 06, 2027, with participation in various activities and final presentations.

Qualifications

• Progress toward a bachelor’s degree in accounting or related discipline.
• Status as a rising junior or rising senior, approx. graduation dates of December 2027–June 2029.
• Availability to work 40 hrs/week for 10-12 weeks during the summer.
• Candidate location in Central or Eastern US time zone is preferred OR willingness to work Central or Eastern time zone business hours.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Tax team with gathering data and supporting documentation for quarterly tax provision and tax return preparation.
• Help organize and review information used in state and federal tax filings under the guidance of experienced team members.
• Support the team by researching tax-related questions and compiling information needed to respond to taxing authority inquiries.
• Assist with maintaining tax depreciation schedules and preparing supporting workpapers for tax account analyses.
• Review invoices and expense documentation to help identify information needed for tax reporting and deductibility assessments.
• Perform data entry, validation, and reconciliation activities to support tax compliance and reporting processes.

Associates living within 60 miles of a corporate office (Carmel, IN; or Chicago, IL) have access to work from that location as needed.
