Job summary

HBK CPAs & Consultants in Youngstown, OH invites accounting students to join spring internships January through April. You'll gain hands-on tax training, work with a collaborative team, and learn how a public accounting firm operates while contributing to real client work.

Internships may be full-time or part-time; spring interns must commit to at least 24 hours per week in-office. High-performing interns may be considered for future opportunities and full-time roles after graduation.

Qualifications

• Sophomore or junior accounting student.
• Preferred GPA 3.0 or higher; leadership and involvement valued.
• Pursuing CPA designation.
• Must pass an employment background check.
• Excellent computer, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Receive training on federal and state tax preparation, tax research, tax laws, and HBK software.
• Attend a week-long 1040 Tax Training Program.
• Contribute to the firm by providing timely and high-quality work products.
• Work closely with team members across all levels of the organization and perform many of the same responsibilities as a first-year associate.
• Gain hands-on training on how to prepare tax returns (individual and corporate).
• Gain insight into how public accounting firms operate.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Sophomore or junior candidate pursuing a major in accounting
• Preferred cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher; leadership experience, campus involvement, and relevant work experience are also highly valued.
• Actively pursuing or interest in pursuing the CPA designation
• Must possess excellent computer, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
• Must pass an employment background check

Internship Requirements

• Internships may be full-time or part-time depending on the time of year and office requirements. For spring busy season internships, candidates must have the ability to work at least 24 hours per week in-office during the program. Before applying, please ensure you can commit to a minimum of 24 hours in-office per week throughout the duration of the program. Our spring internships run January through April.
• High-performing interns may be considered for future internship opportunities and full-time employment upon graduation.
