Job summary

HBK is seeking motivated accounting students for its internship program in Boca Raton, designed to provide hands-on learning in tax prep and research within a dynamic public accounting environment.

You will train on federal/state tax rules, participate in a 1040 training program, and work closely with team members across levels while developing core professional skills for a successful career in accounting.

Qualifications

• Sophomore or junior pursuing accounting.
• Preferred cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher; leadership and campus involvement valued.
• Actively pursuing or interested in CPA designation.
• Excellent computer, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Must pass an employment background check.

Responsibilities

• Receiving training on federal and state tax preparation, tax research, tax laws, and HBK software.
• Attending a week-long 1040 Tax Training Program.
• Contributing to the firm by providing timely, high-quality work products.
• Working closely with team members across all levels of the organization.
• Gaining hands-on training on how to prepare tax returns (individual and corporate).
• Gaining insight into how public accounting firms operate.
• Strengthening communication, analytical, and professional skills through hands-on experience.
• Gaining insight into what it takes to build a successful career in public accounting.

For spring busy season internships, candidates must have the ability to work at least 24 hours per week in-office during the program. Before applying, please ensure you can commit to a minimum of 24 hours in-office per week throughout the duration of the program.
