You will accomplish this by:Understanding clients' needs and expectations, their business and industry, accounting and control systems, employees, company values and industry-related GAAP and GAAS issues.Developing an understanding of the audit approach and tools.Assessing risks and evaluating the client's internal control structure.Performing analytics, substantive tests, and tests of internal controls to identify and resolve accounting or reporting issues.Drafting financial statements.Contributing to the firm by providing timely and high-quality work products.Working closely with team members across all levels of the organization and performing many of the same responsibilities as a first-year associate.Working on various audit projects.Gaining a better understanding of how public accounting firms operate.Strengthening communication, analytical, and professional skills through hands-on experienceGaining insight into what it takes to build a successful career in the public accounting industryREQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONSSophomore or junior candidate pursuing a major in accountingPreferred cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher; leadership experience, campus involvement, and relevant work experience are also highly valued.Actively pursuing or interest in pursuing the CPA designationMust possess excellent computer, communication, and interpersonal skillsDemonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.Must pass an employment background checkINTERNSHIP REQUIREMENTS:Internships may be full-time or part-time depending on the time of year and office requirements. For spring busy season internships, candidates must have the ability to work at least 24 hours per week in-office during the program. Before applying, please ensure you can commit to a minimum of 24 hours in-office per week throughout the duration of the program.
