Job summary

ThreatLocker, headquartered in Orlando, FL, seeks a Tax & Financial Support Specialist to ensure compliance with sales and use tax regulations and support financial operations. You will prepare and file tax returns, maintain records, and collaborate across Finance, HR, Sales, and IT.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in sales and use tax or related financial roles, proficiency with Avalara/Vertex/Sovos, ERP systems (SAP/Oracle/NetSuite), advanced Excel, and strong analytical and communication

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• 2+ years experience in sales and use tax compliance or related financial role.
• Experience preparing multi-jurisdictional sales and use tax returns.
• Familiarity with tax software (Avalara, Vertex, Sovos) and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and file monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and use tax returns across multiple jurisdictions.
• Reconcile sales tax reports, payroll reports, and related general ledger accounts.
• Maintain accurate tax rate tables and exemption certificates.
• Research and resolve tax discrepancies, notices, and inquiries from tax authorities.
• Assist with sales tax audits by gathering documentation and responding to auditor requests.
• Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations and evaluate their impact on company operations.
• Collaborate with Finance, HR, Sales, Purchasing, IT, and other departments to ensure proper tax treatment and financial compliance.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Tax & Financial Support Specialist plays a key role in ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local sales and use tax regulations while supporting the organization's financial operations. This position is responsible for preparing and filing tax returns, maintaining tax records, reconciling financial data, supporting audits, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, exceptional attention to detail, and experience working with tax software, ERP systems, and financial reporting tools.

This role will be based in Orlando, FL and is an in-office position.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in sales and use tax compliance, accounting, or a related financial role.
• Experience preparing and filing multi-jurisdictional sales and use tax returns.
• Familiarity with tax software such as Avalara, Vertex, Sovos, or similar platforms.
• Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or equivalent.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
