Job summary

Baker Tilly is seeking a Tax Director in Northern California to lead tax advisory and compliance for PE portfolio companies and midmarket clients, working with firm leadership to deliver industry-focused solutions. You will mentor staff, manage engagements, and contribute to their development through firm programs, while upholding client service, ethics, and timely delivery.

Qualifications

Must have CPA, Law license, or EA.
12+ years of experience in tax within public accounting.
PE industry experience on portfolio companies preferred.

Responsibilities

Be a trusted member of the engagement team providing federal tax compliance and advisory services.
Lead client relationships on day-to-day tax matters for midmarket to multinational clients.
Consult on corporate and flow-through taxation, ASC740 and accounting methods.
Research tax matters and respond to IRS inquiries with client recommendations.
Coordinate with specialty tax practices on state/local, international, credits and incentives.
Manage staffing, billing/collections and ensure profitability targets.
Mentor staff and contribute to their professional development and growth.
