Job summary

CyberCoders seeks a Tax Director to lead our tax practice in Western New York with hybrid remote flexibility. Based in Rochester, Buffalo, or Perry, NY, you will sign complex tax returns, mentor staff, and guide client service initiatives within a supportive firm culture.

The role requires an active CPA, a BA in Accounting, and 10–15+ years of public accounting experience. Strong technical skills and communication are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Active CPA license and a Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• 10 to 15+ years of progressive public accounting experience, demonstrating strong tax review and project management capabilities.
• Experience with CCH Axcess, SurePrep, and SafeSend is preferred; strong Microsoft 365 skills required.

Responsibilities

• Review and sign complex individual, business, and informational tax returns, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Identify and research intricate tax issues, develop clear resolutions, and author written technical conclusions.
• Oversee the tax department's project management systems to maximize operational efficiencies and workflow seamlessness.
• Supervise and mentor staff, overseeing education and career growth plans.
• Collaborate with executive leadership on high-level initiatives and identify opportunities for new client service lines.
• Build strong client relationships, deliver an exceptional client experience, and foster practice growth.
