Job summary

Landing Point is seeking a Tax Director to lead high-net-worth client tax services and strategic planning in a fee-only wealth management setting in the United States. The role focuses on compliance for individuals, trusts, estates, gifts, foundations, and businesses, with emphasis on advisory work and staff development.

The ideal candidate has a CPA or EA, 10+ years in public accounting, and proven ability to manage complex tax engagements, research tax law, and train a tax group.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Accounting, JD, or MS in Tax is required.
• Active CPA, EA, or state bar license is required.
• 10+ years of progressive public accounting experience.
• Extensive experience in Tax Advisory and Gift/Estate/Trust planning.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience with CCH Axcess Tax & Bloomberg Income Tax Planner preferred.
• Experience with research software and memo writing is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality individual, trust, estate, gift, foundation, and business tax compliance services.
• Develop and implement tax planning strategies in alignment with client goals.
• Review individual, trust, estate, gift, business entity, and foundation returns.
• Handle Federal and State tax notices and audits.
• Research Federal, State, and International tax laws and prepare tax memorandums.
• Manage client accounts with respect to tax and foster client relationships.
• Conduct internal business development and marketing activities.
• Provide internal training and guidance on tax-related topics.
• Manage and train other members of the tax group.
