Job summary

Landing Point is seeking a Tax Director to lead innovative tax projects and strategies for high-net-worth clients, blending tax expertise with technology to transform advisory services. The role focuses on delivering strategic value and growth.

You will manage tax planning, perform reviews of complex returns, and mentor Associates and Managers while driving efficiency with modern tools and client-focused outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, or related field.
• 8+ years in public accounting with at least 4 years in a supervisory role.
• CPA or JD credentials for IRS representation; strong tax knowledge; Excel/Google Suite proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Market, design, and implement tax-planning strategies for clients within budget.
• Review complex income tax returns, federal and multi-state filings.
• Maintain active client communication to manage expectations and satisfaction.
• Lead, develop, train, and mentor Associates and Managers on tax projects.
• Leverage technology to maximize project outcomes.
• Determine appropriate tax objectives, scope, and methodology.
• Evaluate skills and develop team expertise across returns and audits.

Job Responsibilities

• Market, design, and implement tax-planning strategies for clients and manage to budget.
• Conduct primary and secondary review of complex income tax returns, including federal and multi-state filings.
• Maintain active communication with clients to manage expectations and ensure satisfaction.
• Manage, develop, train, and mentor Associates and Managers on tax projects.
• Leverage technology to maximize technical application to projects.
• Determine appropriate tax objectives, scope, and methodology.
• Evaluate skills and develop team expertise in various tax returns and audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, or a related field.
• At least 8 years of relevant work experience with an accounting firm, with a minimum of 4 years in a supervisory role.
• Advanced credentials, such as CPA or JD, for client representation before the IRS.
• Strong technical knowledge of complex tax issues.
• Proficient in MS Excel and Google Suite.

Compensation

Salary: $200,000 - $225,000 Range + Plus Equity
