Our Houston headquartered CPA firm client seeks a strong Tax Senior Manager or Director for a growing tax practice. FULLY REMOTE!

DESCRIPTION:

This high quality, established but boutique firm in Houston is growing and seeks a strong tax senior manager to assist in the growth, and to one day lead the Tax practice. Due to the fast growth of the practice, this firm is looking for someone who can manage the current team and do the technical work at this level, but they do not require or need the hired candidate to sell new business. This is an established team with a ton of work available, they just need a strong leader for the tax practice.

For the Senior Manager, the partners of this top tier firm desire an individual who works to live, (not lives to work) and who will join them in their quest to make this firm one that allows every employee (even at the highest levels) to have an outstanding quality of work and life balance. To that end, the firm has a fully remote schedule for all employees. They are open to candidates in most US states who may need to travel to Houston annually for firm meetings. This firm is looking for a long term leader, and one who can and will be considered for partnership within 1-2 years. This firm has an established audit practice, and is looking to supplement the efforts of the established tax team of qualified professionals. There is an established book of business for this individual, however, for long term growth and equity incentives, a client base would need to be established and developed, or brought to the firm. However, someone who enjoys this level of work and leadership but who does not prefer to sell work is welcome.

This role will provide tax compliance and tax consulting in a positive, team oriented atmosphere. This group works with tax provisions, individual tax, corporate tax, and with high net worth families in a variety of industries. There is a large group of oil and gas clients, so exposure to oil and gas work is nice to have as well. REQUIREMENTS:

4 year Accounting Degree

CPA required

Strong corporate tax experience in a CPA firm

HNW experience strongly preferred

Desire to assist in running a tax practice

Client service attitude

Proven managerial and leadership skills required

10+ years experience in a CPA firm

Open to someone who is currently working in industry but who wants to return to public accounting
