Clark Schaefer Hackett is seeking a Tax Controversy Manager or Senior Manager to join its growing Midwest tax practice in East Lansing, Michigan. You will advise clients, manage federal, state, and local tax controversy matters, and mentor staff while representing clients before tax authorities.

You’ll collaborate with partners and engagement teams to shape strategy, navigate examinations, and influence outcomes where judgments matter.

Responsabilités

• Serve as strategic advisor to clients on federal, state, and local tax controversy matters.
• Manage examinations, administrative appeals, disputes, and notices.
• Lead tax research, controversy strategy, and client advocacy before authorities.
• Mentor staff and develop processes within the practice.
• Develop client relationships and identify new business opportunities.
• Collaborate with partners and engagement teams on complex tax issues.
• Contribute to growth of the firm’s tax controversy capabilities.
