Job summary

Davidson College in North Carolina seeks a Tax Specialist to lead college-wide IRS and state tax compliance, including preparing forms 990/990-T and 1042-S for international participants.

You will coordinate filings for 1099s, 941s, and 1098-Ts, monitor state/local taxes, respond to notices, and work with the Finance team to improve processes.

Hybrid work option after introductory period; standard hours Mon-Fri 8-5, with a commitment to accuracy and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• 2–5 years of dedicated tax compliance experience.
• Experience with higher education tax requirements and GAAP.
• Strong communication and analytical abilities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and coordinate IRS filings (IRS Forms 990/990-T) and other tax returns.
• Manage 1042/1042-S compliance and withholdings for international parties.
• Oversee 1099s, 941s, 1098-Ts and monthly state/local tax filings.
• Respond to tax notices and assist with policy development.
