Job summary

CPS, Inc. is seeking a Tax Supervisor in Fort Lauderdale to lead tax compliance engagements for individuals and entities. You will review complex returns, guide staff, and collaborate with managers and partners to ensure high-quality client service.

In this role, you will monitor tax developments, identify planning opportunities, oversee timelines and budgets, and participate in business development to grow client relationships. A strong client-service mindset and leadership skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Manage federal, state, and local tax compliance engagements for individuals and business entities.
• Prepare and review complex tax returns, including partnerships, S corporations, C corporations, individuals, trusts, and other entities.
• Review tax workpapers and returns for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable tax laws.
• Research and resolve complex federal, state, and local tax issues.
• Identify and communicate tax planning opportunities and potential risks to clients and engagement leadership.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for clients and develop strong professional relationships.
• Coordinate engagement timelines, budgets, and deliverables to ensure deadlines are met.
• Supervise, train, and mentor Tax Seniors, Staff Accountants, and other junior team members.
• Review staff work and provide technical guidance and performance feedback.
• Assist managers and partners with complex tax matters, special projects, and client presentations.
• Monitor changes in tax legislation, regulations, and accounting standards and communicate relevant developments to clients and staff.
• Participate in business development activities and contribute to expanding client relationships.
• Assist with recruiting, training, and development of the firm's tax professionals.
