Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting is required.
• 2-3 years of related professional experience preferred.
• State and local tax knowledge or experience is preferred.
• A CPA or CIA certification is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Examine taxpayer records for compliance under supervision.
• Research tax laws to stay current and schedule exams.
• Prepare exam materials and compute assessments.
• Meet with taxpayers to discuss exam procedures and findings.
• Review and verify business and financial records for accuracy.
• Explain tax laws and rulings to taxpayers and representatives.
• Travel as required to conduct audits and conferences.
