Job summary

CyberCoders is seeking a detail-oriented Tax & Audit Senior in Columbus to lead tax compliance and audit engagements for a diverse client base. You will prepare and review returns for individuals, partnerships, and corporations, oversee fieldwork and reporting, and mentor junior staff to ensure timely, accurate client service.

The role requires strong technical tax and audit knowledge, excellent communication, and the ability to manage multiple engagements and client relationships.

Qualifications

• CPA designation preferred or in-progress; active license a plus.
• 3+ years of experience as a Tax Senior, Audit Senior, or similar role at a public accounting firm.
• Proven experience preparing and reviewing individual returns, partnerships returns, corporate returns, and other business returns.
• Strong experience with tax return prep and review processes and tax compliance workflows.
• Demonstrated experience leading audits, reviews or other attest engagements.
• Working knowledge of tax research tools and accounting systems.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review and finalize individual tax returns (1040 series) including associated schedules and analyses.
• Prepare and review partnership (1065), corporate (1120/1120S) and other business returns.
• Lead audit and review engagements, perform substantive testing, document findings, and prepare reports.
• Oversee and mentor junior staff and Tax Seniors; delegate tasks and provide feedback.
• Perform technical tax research and provide recommendations on planning opportunities and compliance matters.
• Coordinate with clients to gather information, communicate findings, and resolve issues.
• Ensure quality control and compliance with firm policies and standards.
• Manage engagement timelines and budgets, escalate issues to partners when necessary.
• Utilize tax software and accounting systems to prepare returns and schedules.
• Contribute to business development efforts by identifying cross-selling opportunities.
