Job summary

CLA, a leading CPA firm, seeks Tax/Audit Interns for our Appleton, Green Bay, Oshkosh, and Sheboygan offices. The anticipated start date is January 2028 with an anticipated end date in April 2028.

This internship offers exposure to tax returns, audits, and client work within a collaborative, inclusive environment. Successful candidates are pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, are working toward CPA eligibility, and are eager to learn about procedures, workpapers, and firm

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA eligibility required.
• General knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Willingness to learn new technologies.
• Proficient with Microsoft Windows and Office.
• Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to client sites.

Responsibilities

• Prepares individual, corporate, partnership, and other types of tax returns.
• Gains experience, exposure, and knowledge of procedures, workpapers and systems.
• Supports multiple client engagements on time and within budget, identifying issues and communicating progress.
• Expands industry knowledge, through greater exposure to peers, clients, and formal training opportunities.
• Completes research and special projects as needed.
• Communicates effectively with clients and CLA family members on a regular basis.

Minimum Requirements

• Working towards the achievement of a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field – Degree in Accounting or Finance strongly preferred.
• Achieving credit requirements to be eligible to sit for the CPA exam per state requirements.
• General knowledge of accounting principles and reporting of financial data.
• Willingness to learn new technologies.
• Proficient with Microsoft (MS) Windows and Office products.
• Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to client sites.
