Job summary

CLA (CliftonLarsonAllen) seeks Tax/Audit Interns for our Southwest Florida locations. The role supports client engagements, prepares tax returns, and assists with audit and assurance work.

The preferred start is January 2028 and end around April 2028, with possibility of full-time or part-time scheduling (minimum 30 hours). Candidates are pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, aiming to CPA exam eligibility, and have strong MS Office skills and reliable transportation for travel

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA exam eligibility required by state requirements or in progress.
• General knowledge of accounting principles and financial data reporting.
• Willingness to learn new technologies and travel to client sites.

Responsibilities

• Prepares tax returns for individuals, corporations, and partnerships.
• Performs audit, review, compilation, and other assurance services.
• Gains experience with procedures, workpapers, and firm systems.
• Supports multiple client engagements on time and within budget.
• Expands industry knowledge through peers, clients, and formal training.
• Completes research and special projects as needed.
• Communicates effectively with clients and CLA team members.

Our Southwest Florida locations are seeking Tax/Audit Interns. This internship is preferred to be a full-time, however, part-time may be offered with a minimum of 30 hours per week.

Primary Responsibilities

• Prepares individual, corporate, partnership, and other types of tax returns.
• Performs audit, review, compilation, and other assurance services.
• Gains experience, exposure, and knowledge of procedures, workpapers and systems.
• Supports multiple client engagements on time and within budget, identifying issues and communicating progress.
• Expands industry knowledge, through greater exposure to peers, clients, and formal training opportunities.
• Completes research and special projects as needed.
• Communicates effectively with clients and CLA family members on a regular basis.

Minimum Requirements

• Working towards the achievement of a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field – Degree in Accounting or Finance strongly preferred.
• Achieving credit requirements to be eligible to sit for the CPA exam per state requirements.
• General knowledge of accounting principles and reporting of financial data.
• Willingness to learn new technologies.
• Proficient with Microsoft (MS) Windows and Office products.
• Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to client sites.
