Job summary

CLA's Arlington, VA office is seeking Tax/Audit Interns to gain hands-on experience in preparing tax returns, performing audits and assurance work, and supporting multiple client engagements on time and within budget.

Applicants pursuing a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance with CPA exam eligibility, basic knowledge of accounting principles, and proficiency in MS Office are encouraged to apply; travel to client sites may be required. The compensation range is $29.00–$31.00 in Virginia.

Qualifications

• Pursuing bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• Credit requirements to sit CPA exam per state requirements.
• General knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Proficient with MS Windows and Office.
• Willingness to travel to client sites.

Responsibilities

• Prepares individual, corporate, partnership, and other tax returns.
• Gains experience with audit, review, compilation, and assurance services.
• Supports multiple client engagements on time and within budget.
• Communicates progress and issues with clients and CLA team.
• Expands industry knowledge through training and peer exposure.
• Completes research and special projects as needed.
• Communicates effectively with clients and CLA family members.
