Job summary

MissionHires is looking for an experienced Tax Associate for a growing public accounting firm in Tampa, FL. The ideal candidate will have 5–8 years of tax experience, preparing and reviewing returns for individuals and businesses.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of recent public accounting experience focused on tax.
• Strong experience preparing and reviewing Forms 1040, 1065, 1120, and 1120‑S.
• Hands‑on experience with small‑to‑mid market business clients (approx. $1M–$50M revenue).
• No CPA or EA required; bachelor’s degree is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review federal and state tax returns.
• Conduct client reviews and provide tax advisory discussions.
• Collaborate with the Tax Manager and Partner on workflow.
• Manage a varied book of local Tampa‑area clients.

Skills

Public accounting experience focused on tax

Preparing and reviewing tax returns

Client communication skills

Proficiency with CCH ProSystem fx or UltiPro

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related
