Job summary

Cherry Bekaert LLP in Chicago seeks a Tax Staff to engage and serve clients from diverse industries, while building tax knowledge through preparation of basic and intermediate individual returns and corporate and partnership filings.

You will collaborate with project leads, travel to client sites as needed, and contribute to tax research and documentation, with a focus on integrity, teamwork, and professional growth. We offer a comprehensive benefits package and a performance-based bonus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
• Masters preferred; CPA eligible or pursuing CPA license.
• GPA 3.0/4.0 or higher preferred, but not required.
• Proficiency with computers and spreadsheet software.
• Ability to travel to client sites as needed, including frequent same-day travel and occasional out-of-town travel.
• Ability to work moderate overtime throughout the year with heavier overtime during certain business cycles.

Responsibilities

• Engage and serve clients from various industries
• Communicate with project in-charges and clients
• Develop tax knowledge while preparing basic and intermediate individual tax returns
• Prepare federal and multi-state corporate tax returns and basic partnership returns
• Research fundamental tax issues using online tools
• Prepare and organize workpapers for client files
• Perform other essential duties as needed
