Job summary

Cherry Bekaert LLP in Torrance, CA is seeking a Tax Staff to engage and serve clients across industries. You will prepare individual returns, and basic corporate and partnership returns, while building tax knowledge through research and client collaboration.

The role requires a Bachelor's in accounting or related field; a CPA path is preferred. You should be comfortable with travel to client sites and overtime during busy cycles, and proficient with spreadsheets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
• Masters preferred; CPA certified or the eligibility to work toward obtaining a CPA license.
• GPA 3.0/4.0 or above preferred, but not required.
• Proficiency with computers and spreadsheet software programs.
• Ability to travel to client sites as needed, including frequent same-day travel and occasional out-of-town travel.
• Ability to work moderate overtime throughout the year with heavier overtime during certain business cycles.

Responsibilities

• Engage and serve clients from various industries.
• Communicate with project in-charges and clients.
• Develop tax knowledge while preparing basic and intermediate individual tax returns.
• Prepare federal and multi-state corporate tax returns and basic partnership returns.
• Research fundamental tax issues using online tools.
• Prepare and organize workpapers for client files.
• Perform other essential duties as needed.
