Nichols Cauley is seeking a Tax Associate to assist in preparing federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and non-profits. You will gather and analyze client information, identify credits and liabilities, and support senior team members with planning and research.

The role emphasizes confidentiality, precision, and staying current with tax laws, in a collaborative environment that values growth and professional development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; MAcc preferred.
• 1–2 years of recent tax return preparation experience in public accounting preferred.
• EA/CPA or working toward CPA designation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare individual, corporate, partnership, and trust tax returns.
• Gather, organize, and analyze client financial information.
• Identify credits, deductions, and liabilities.
• Respond to IRS and state tax notices.
• Maintain client confidentiality and protect sensitive information.
• Stay updated on tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
• Communicate with clients to request documentation.
• Support senior accountants and partners with tax planning and research.
