Job summary

Dean Dorton is seeking an experienced Tax Associate Director, High Net Worth Individuals, to lead and manage a portfolio of high net worth clients. You will coordinate engagements, supervise teams, and deliver strategic tax planning while collaborating with attorneys and wealth advisors.

You will mentor staff, contribute to business development, and maintain strong client relationships, handling complex returns and multi-entity structures with a focus on growth and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field.
• CPA licensure required.
• Minimum of ten years of experience in tax, with significant experience serving high net worth individuals and families.
• Strong experience with complex individual returns, multi-entity structures, and estate/gift tax concepts.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage client service teams and engagements focused on high net worth individuals and related entities.
• Manage workflow and deadlines, collect and review client information to complete engagement tasks.
• Review complex individual income tax returns (1040), multi-state filings, K-1 aggregation, and investment reporting.
• Oversee tax compliance and planning for trusts, estates, partnerships, and S corporations tied to individual clients.
• Provide proactive tax planning strategies related to income deferral, capital gains, charitable giving, and estate and gift tax considerations.
