Job summary

Elevated Financial & Tax in Charlotte, NC is seeking a detail-oriented Tax Preparer to join our full-time team. You will handle individual and small business returns, review documents, and communicate with IRS and state agencies to ensure accuracy and timeliness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field.
• Minimum of 1 year of professional tax preparation experience required; 2-3 years strongly preferred.
• CPA or EA credentials are a plus; driving to complete CPA is valued.
• Proficient in accounting, tax, and practice management software. Training on our tech stack provided.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Five weeks of paid time off (PTO) annually and ten paid holidays per year.

Responsibilities

• Prepare individual (Form 1040) and small business (Schedule C, 1065, 1120‑S) tax returns
• Prepare other tax filing forms and special projects as assigned
• Review client‑provided financial documents and source data for accuracy and completeness
• Research and resolve tax issues, including correspondence with tax authorities
• Communicate directly with clients to gather information and answer tax‑related questions
• Maintain organized, up-to-date client files and documentation
• Commit to continuous professional development through ongoing education and training
