Job Title: Tax Associate

Location: Remote (USA)

About the Role

We are seeking US-based Seasonal Tax Associate to support customers during the peak tax preparation period. In this role, you will assist taxpayers and tax professionals using our tax preparation solutions, helping them resolve both technical issues and basic tax-related questions.

Due to the sensitive nature of taxpayer data and IRS regulations, this position is restricted to onshore US-based personnel only.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide phone, chat, and/or email support to customers using our tax preparation products and services.
  • Handle and protect sensitive taxpayer information in strict compliance with IRS Regulation 7216 and internal data security policies.
  • Understand, interpret, and explain basic tax concepts and tax form information to customers (training provided).
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to software installation, account access, data entry, e-filing, and product functionality.
  • Guide users through product features, workflows, and best practices to complete their tax returns accurately and efficiently.
  • Document all customer interactions, issues, and resolutions in the ticketing/CRM system with accuracy and completeness.
  • Escalate complex technical or tax-related issues to higher-level support or specialized teams as needed.
  • Meet or exceed performance metrics such as quality, customer satisfaction, handle time, and adherence.
  • Maintain professionalism, empathy, and clear communication in all customer interactions, even in high-volume, time-sensitive situations.
Required Qualifications
  • Must be physically located in the United States and authorized to work in the US.
  • Willingness and ability to work with sensitive taxpayer information in compliance with IRS Regulation 7216 and company security standards.
  • Recent graduate (or final-year student) from a relevant field such as:
  • Accounting
  • Finance
  • Business Administration
  • Economics
  • Information Systems / Computer Science (with interest in tax/financial applications)
  • Or related disciplines with exposure to tax, finance, or business concepts
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to interpret numerical and textual information accurately.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to explain technical and tax-related concepts in clear, simple language.
  • Comfortable using computer systems, web applications, and common office software; ability to learn new tools quickly.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment during peak tax season, including possible evenings and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Introductory knowledge of US individual income tax concepts (e.g., W-2, 1099, deductions, credits), through coursework, internships, or prior roles.
  • Prior experience in customer service, technical support, help desk, or call center environments.
  • Experience supporting software products or web-based applications.
  • Bilingual skills (e.g., English/Spanish) are a plus.
