Job summary

HR Block, Inc. is seeking a Seasonal Tax Associate to work in-person at a local tax office. You will meet with clients, gather information, and prepare tax returns with coaching from experienced colleagues.

Training is provided to help you respond to client questions with clarity and confidence. You will identify potential tax savings opportunities and offer relevant products, while building lasting client relationships and contributing to office priorities through teamwork and a client-first

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the HR Block Income Tax Course or equivalent tax training (if stated).
• Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service-oriented environment.
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs.
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions.
• Comfort using digital tools and systems, including AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT.
• High school diploma / GED / equivalent.

About the Role

As a seasonal Tax Associate at H&R Block, you’ll begin a career in tax and client services—no prior tax experience required. With training and support from day one, you’ll work directly with clients to gather information, prepare tax returns, and answer questions while building valuable skills and strong client relationships. You’ll earn a competitive hourly rate, with opportunities to increase your earnings as you build tax knowledge and grow in the role. This role is in-person at a local H&R Block tax office.

Required Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
• Experience in a client-facing or consultative role, such as financial advising, insurance, retail sales, or professional services
• Experience asking questions and recommending solutions based on customer needs
• Ability to work 15–35 hours per week, with availability up to 40 hours during peak periods
• Availability to work evenings and weekends during tax season
