Position Summary

As a Tax Analyst, you will play a key role in managing the daily documentation and accurate record-keeping for LATAM import operations. Your responsibilities will include calculating and forecasting tax obligations, reviewing and validating import documentation, ensuring timely and accurate tax payments, and maintaining full compliance with relevant regulations.

You will support internal and external audits, collaborate closely with accounting and operations teams, manage payment requests, and coordinate with customs brokers. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining thorough customs records and generating regular reports. This role also involves leveraging a variety of technological tools to streamline processes and enhance operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect, review, and analyze documentation to accurately maintain records and customs entries related to LATAM import activities.
  • Determine applicable duties, taxes, and fees for LATAM imports; prepare tax forecasts based on projected import volumes.
  • Reconcile all taxes paid on a monthly basis, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare and submit required documentation to both internal stakeholders and external authorities in accordance with established standards and audit procedures.
  • Collaborate with accounting and operations teams to support and align with overall business objectives.
  • Stay up to date with customs regulations, trade compliance requirements, and relevant legal developments in all countries where the company operates.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in International Business, International Relations, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 1 to 3 years of progressive experience in customs, customs agency, or within the oil and gas industry.
  • Proficiency in Excel, including familiarity with formulas, data management, and exposure to AI-driven processes.
  • Fluency in both Spanish and English, with strong verbal and written communication skills in both languages.
