Paylocity in Schaumburg, IL is seeking a Tax Specialist I to join our Tax Filing Team. All facets of the organization rely on Tax Services to manage deposits and filings for a high-volume operation.

The Tax Filing Service handles significant deposits and hundreds of thousands of returns annually. This in-office role requires 1–2 years of payroll and tax experience, strong Excel skills, and clear communication.

Qualifications

• Minimum one to two years of payroll experience.
• Minimum one to two years of tax or related field experience.
• Strong Excel skills (intermediate to advanced).
• Bachelor's Degree required; CPA or CPP preferred or progress toward certification.
• Experience with high-volume payroll tax processes is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and file quarterly and annual tax returns with state and local agencies.
• Maintain data exchanges with tax agencies and ensure correct filings.
• Identify error trends and report to the Tax Filing Manager.
• Communicate tax issues clearly to internal partners and clients.
