Job Summary
The Indirect Tax Analyst is responsible for supporting indirect tax compliance, including sales and use tax filings, business licenses, exemption certificates, and audit support. This role ensures accurate and timely filings while maintaining compliance with state and local tax regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain customer sales tax exemption certificates_directand records
- Prepare and file sales, use, and other indirect tax returns (original and amended)
- Maintain jurisdiction, location, and tax tracking files
- Prepare and renew business licenses as required
- Communicate with taxing authorities, internal teams, and branch locations
- Submit tax payments, journal entries, and AP check requests
- Support sales tax audits and provide documentation to auditors
- Research state and local sales and use tax requirements
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 1+ year of indirect tax or related accounting experience
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Advanced Excel skills preferred
- Experience with Vertex Series O and Vertex Returns is a plus
