Job summary

CB Partners, LLC is seeking a Tax Analyst to join its Finance team. This role focuses on sales and use tax compliance, month-end accruals, audits, and process improvements, requiring accuracy and collaboration across accounting and operations.

You will prepare tax filings, review transactions for proper tax treatment, respond to notices, and support state and local audits across multiple jurisdictions. A strong Excel skillset and knowledge of Vertex or SAP are a plus.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of transactional tax experience.
• Experience with sales and use tax compliance.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
• Experience with Vertex Tax Compliance and/or SAP is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and file sales and use tax returns accurately and on time
• Complete monthly use tax accruals, journal entries, and account reconciliations
• Review expense, fixed asset, and inventory transactions for proper tax treatment
• Support state and local tax audits through data analysis and documentation
• Research tax laws and monitor legislative changes
• Resolve tax notices and maintain SOX-compliant documentation
• Assist with process improvements and special projects

Job description

We are partnering with a growing organization seeking a Tax Analyst to join its Finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented tax professional who enjoys working across compliance, research, reconciliations, audits, and process improvement initiatives.

In this role, you will be responsible for supporting sales and use tax compliance, preparing monthly filings and accruals, reviewing transactions for proper tax treatment, responding to tax notices, and assisting with state and local audits. You will collaborate with accounting, finance, and operational teams to ensure accurate reporting and maintain compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
