Job summary

You will support the accounting team with income tax returns, quarterly estimates, audits, asset reviews, and process improvements while gaining insight into state and IRS tax work.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent required.
• Enrolled in a four-year university program, sophomore level or above.
• GPA 3.25 required to be considered.
• Past internship experience is a plus but not required.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Accounting I and II coursework.
• Keen attention to detail, strong oral and verbal communication skills, organization skills, and team player.

Responsibilities

• Prepare income tax returns and quarterly estimates.
• Assist with IRS and state audits.
• Review fixed assets for tax purposes (assure proper tax life and method selected, review tangible property regulations, maximize annual depreciation or deduction).
• Help identify tax savings opportunities throughout the tax return process, including state income tax and credit research.
• Assist with process improvement and efficiencies across the tax function.
• Work on special projects and other tasks as assigned.
