Jobot in Buffalo Grove, IL seeks an experienced Tax & Accounting Associate to join our growing team. You will prepare and review tax returns for individuals and entities while performing monthly and year-end close processes for multiple clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in public accounting, tax preparation, or a related role.
• Proficiency with tax preparation software (e.g., UltraTax, ProSystem fx, Lacerte, or similar) and accounting platforms (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero).
• Strong understanding of GAAP and current federal/state tax regulations.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and trusts.
• Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end accounting close processes, including account reconciliations and financial statement preparation.
• Research complex tax issues and stay current on changes in tax law and regulations.
• Assist with tax planning strategies to minimize client tax liabilities and ensure compliance.
• Manage bookkeeping and general ledger maintenance for a portfolio of clients.
• Respond to notices from taxing authorities and assist with audits as needed.
• Communicate directly with clients to gather financial information, answer questions, and provide guidance.
• Collaborate with senior staff and partners on client engagements and special projects.
• Maintain organized, accurate, and confidential client files and documentation.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and enhance client service delivery.
