Job Description

Position as a Tax Staff with one of the largest Class II Railroad companies in the US, handling sales, use, and property tax. Opportunity to collaborate with various professionals within and outside the Tax Department. Ideal for candidates eager to explore different tax disciplines and build a lasting career in tax.

Responsibilities

• Reconciliation, preparation, and filing of sales/use tax returns
• Research and analysis of sales/use taxability within jurisdictions
• Reconciliation, preparation, and filing of personal property tax returns
• Responding to and resolving tax notices promptly
• Communicating with state/local jurisdictions nationwide
• Handling special projects as needed

Qualifications

• Minimum 3.25 GPA as an Accounting/Tax major (preferred)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, including pivot tables and macros
• Good communication skills for interacting with authorities and internal teams
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and learn new skills
• Strong organizational skills to adapt to changing environments and prioritize tasks
