This position is hybrid out of the Springfield, IL office. It is not a remote position.
As anTax Accountant IIyou will be responsible for performing accounting control related functions as well as financial reporting related activities.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and file corporate federal and state income tax returns
- Review and reconcile tax general ledger accounts
- Ensure compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations
- Conduct tax research and stay current on tax law changes
- Assist with tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities
- Prepare documentation for tax audits and respond to inquiries from tax authorities
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes from a tax perspective
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather necessary financial data
- Maintain organized tax records and documentation
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Financeor related field
- CPA license is a plus
- 0-3 years experience in tax accounting
- Proficient in Excel
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong verbal and communication skills
