Job summary

Whaley Hammonds, a public accounting firm located in McDonough, GA, seeks a dedicated professional with 2+ years of recent public accounting tax experience to lead tax and accounting engagements.

You will prepare and review diverse tax returns, guide engagements through planning and financial statement work, and collaborate with clients and staff to deliver trusted service. CPA progression is a plus, and we offer hybrid work and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
• 2+ years of recent public accounting tax experience.
• Strong knowledge of federal and state tax laws.
• CPA license or CPA candidate is a plus.
• Experience in healthcare or hospitality industries is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Tax Services – Prepare and review individual, corporate, partnership, trust & estate, and non-profit tax returns.
• Accounting Services – Lead engagements throughout all phases of accounting including tax research & planning and financial statement preparation.
• Resolve Tax Matters – Research and resolve federal and state tax issues.
• Client Services - Build trusted client relationships and work collaboratively with staff and clients.

Whaley Hammonds, a dynamic public accounting firm located in McDonough, GA, provides a wide range of tax, accounting and advisory services to a diverse roster of clients including small businesses and individuals. We're currently seeking a dedicated self-starter with 2+ years of recent public accounting experience to lead tax and accounting engagements.

Responsibilities

• Tax Services – Prepare and review individual, corporate, partnership, trust & estate, and non-profit tax returns.
• Accounting Services – Lead engagements throughout all phases of accounting including tax research & planning and financial statement preparation.
• Resolve Tax Matters – Research and resolve federal and state tax issues.
• Client Services - Build trusted client relationships and work collaboratively with staff and clients.

• Strong organizational, communication, analytical, client service and PC skills including MS Office and tax software proficiency (UltraTax proficiency is a plus)
• Desire to learn with the ability to juggle priorities, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Experience in the healthcare and hospitality industries is a plus
