Job summary

A staffing agency seeks a Tax Accountant to assist with direct tax responsibilities, including preparing federal income returns and compliance. Candidates should have a Bachelor's Degree and 2+ years of relevant experience. The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of income tax, sales tax, and property tax. This is a full-time position located in Bethlehem, PA.

Qualifications

Job description

Role:
The Tax Accountant will report to and assist with the organization's Tax Manager on day to day direct tax responsibilities. This would include direct taxes / tax accounting, Sales & Use Tax, Property tax, tax compliance, appeals, preparing Federal Income returns, provisions, as well as assist with other departments on special projects including general accounting, consolidations, FP&A, etc.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare the annual and monthly tax returns for sales, use, as well as property taxes.
  • Assist with preparation of annual Federal and State tax provision workpapers
  • Prepare state apportionment, allocation and overpayment workpapers
  • Assist the audit department in regards to gathering information for sales, use as well as property tax audits
  • Prepare filing of quarterly and annual estimated payments, & extensions
  • Prepare gross receipts, sales tax, a property tax returns and processing.
  • Participate in and support ongoing projects/initiatives

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree. Master's in Tax or MBA is a plus
  • CPA or EA is preferred but not required
  • 2+ years of relevant tax accounting experience
  • Strong knowledge of income tax, sales and use tax, etc.
