Job description

The role partners closely with Regional Operations Managers and property teams to elevate both hotel operations and food & beverage performance while reinforcing Lark's standards of hospitality. Assignments vary in length and location, offering the opportunity to experience a diverse collection of independent hotels while making an immediate and meaningful impact across the organization.

Overview

This role is a perfect fit for someone who chose hospitality for the opportunity to travel and tap into their sense of adventure. This dynamic role involves a focus on day-to-day operational excellence and the great balance of being able to tap into some of your expertise and strengths in a project based capacity. The right candidate for this role operates with integrity, asks great questions, is down to get their hands dirty and works hard to build trust quickly. This position provides training, support, and resources to the assigned department and closely coordinates and communicates with the Management team from supporting departments on business volume, schedules, etc. The Task Force Manager maximizes hotel value by achieving revenue growth, expense control, excellent guest service and maximization of human resources. The Task Force Manager develops and/or maintains all hotel operations consistent with Lark Hotels values and standards. This role will be structured as a series of assignments which could last from a few days to multiple months on property based on the needs of the respective businesses. Travel could be 70-85%.

Job Duties
  • Arrive at a property with an assigned agenda, and act quickly to effect that agenda
  • At times, be ready to step into any department and support the daily operations
  • In some scenarios, fill in for property leadership during leadership transitions or during new project transitions
  • Communicate to Lark leadership about observations, suggestions for improvement, or concerns with operational practices or staffing
  • Act as a change management expert, supporting teams and individuals through concerns and questions in order to maintain stability and overall profitability of the operation you are supporting

Experience / Education
  • 3+ years of hospitality experience
  • Ability to work at the line level up to a management level in multiple departments (Front Desk, Restaurants, Housekeeping, Kitchen, Maintenance)
  • Hotel or Restaurant opening experience a plus
  • Self‑motivated and the ability to work and travel independently
  • Ability to gain confidence from coworkers quickly and lead others confidently
  • People‑facing role, with the ability to work through difficult conversations and conflict

A combination of education, training and experience that provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to successfully perform the essential job functions of the position will be considered.

Physical Demands

The majority of work is performed in a hotel environment. This position is physically demanding, requiring extended periods of walking, standing, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Moderate to frequent levels of computer keying using both hands and viewing material on a computer screen. Extended workdays may be required to accomplish tasks and meet workload demands during peak periods. This position requires frequent travel to hotels, which may require long periods of standing, walking, sitting, and flying; therefore, you must be able to physically meet the demands of traveling.
