Task Force Kitchen Lead at Hotel Limpia

Position Summary:

The Kitchen Lead oversees day-to-day kitchen operations, ensuring food is prepared to quality standards, safety and cleanliness protocols are followed, and kitchen staff are effectively supported. This role serves as the right hand to the Kitchen Manager or Chef and plays a key part in maintaining kitchen flow, morale, and service standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and assist kitchen staff in food preparation, cooking, and presentation.

  • Ensure food quality, consistency, and proper plating across all stations.

  • Monitor line operations during service and adjust to maintain pace and efficiency.

  • Enforce health and safety standards (including food storage, sanitation, and cleanliness).

  • Train and mentor kitchen team members; act as point of contact during shifts.

  • Maintain kitchen organization, inventory, and cleanliness.

  • Communicate effectively with FOH and BOH team members to ensure smooth service.

  • Monitor prep levels and ensure stations are stocked for service.

  • Support with ordering, inventory counts, and waste control as directed.

  • Step into any station or role during staff shortages or peak periods.

  • Provide feedback to management on staff performance and kitchen needs.

Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in a high-volume kitchen (lead line cook, sous chef, or similar).

  • Strong knowledge of kitchen procedures, food safety, and culinary techniques.

  • Ability to lead by example and motivate a team.

  • ServSafe or equivalent food handler certification (preferred or required).

  • Effective communicator; able to stay calm under pressure.

  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

  • Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
