Job summary

Hotel Lincoln in Chicago seeks a creative Event Planning Manager to join as a Task Force Manager, coordinating events from concept to celebration and acting as the bridge between clients and the sales team for flawless execution.

You will manage group and catering events, room blocks, culinary experiences, venues and billing while on-site, solving problems creatively to delight guests and elevate experiences at every function.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and/or 2+ years of hotel sales experience.
• 1-year food and beverage experience.
• Strong understanding of negotiation and interpretation of contracts.
• Developed business communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Working knowledge of computers and Microsoft office.
• Present a professional appearance and confidence.
• Ability to communicate effectively with public and other Team Members.
• Strong time management skills, and ability to work under pressure.
• Experience with major hospitality sales CRM systems (such as Envision and Tripleseat, as mentioned in responsibilities).

Responsibilities

Overview

We're seeking a creative and detail-oriented Event Planning Manager to temporarily join our dynamic team as a Task Force Manager—ready to make events come to life! In this role, you'll coordinate every detail—from the spark of an idea to the final celebration—ensuring our guests create unforgettable memories. As an Event Planning Manager, you'll be the bridge between our customers and our sales team, guiding and supporting the smooth execution of every meeting, banquet, and special event. You'll be on hand during every event, turning challenges into opportunities by solving problems creatively and suggesting solutions that wow our customers. You'll directly serve our group and catering customers with enthusiasm, managing everything from room blocks and culinary experiences to stunning venues and seamless billing.
