Job summary

Target is hiring a Target Security Specialist at our Upper Marlboro, MD facility to protect team members, guests, and assets. You will conduct yard and perimeter patrols, respond to incidents, and follow emergency procedures, while upholding our safety standards.

The role requires a High School diploma or equivalent, 18+, valid driver's license, and the ability to work weekends and shifts. Prior security experience is welcome, and training in de-escalation will be provided.

Qualifications

• High School degree or equivalent.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Demonstrated ability to multi-task and respond quickly during crisis situations.
• Possesses and maintains a valid driver's license.
• Meet any state or local licensure and/or other requirements related to the position.
• Ability to lift and carry merchandise weighing up to 60 lbs. occasionally.
• Ability to operate technology systems with minimal direction after training.
• Prior experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to be trained and act on de-escalation tactics.

Responsibilities

• Operate Target-owned vehicles to execute yard and perimeter patrol routines.
• Follow emergency procedures and protocols in the event of emergencies, including incident notification to building leadership.
• Safely conduct internal and external patrols on property, including stairwells, rooftops, truck yard, mezzanine, and near automation/technology and trailers.
