GENERAL FUNCTION

The Optician drives profitable sales growth and attracts and retains guests by delivering exceptional guest service. This involves developing a positive retail environment that ensures premier guest service, guest retention, and high team/doctor satisfaction.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

• Foster a retail selling culture by practicing effective sales skills.
• Develop professional relationships with team members.
• Fill ophthalmic prescriptions, fit and adapt lenses and frames.
• Ensure high-quality product manufacturing and timely fabrication.
• Verify visual acuity and interpret prescriptions and lens designs.
• Measure pupillary distances, bifocal, trifocal, and progressive placements.
• Select and measure frames based on facial features and eye measurements.
• Fit and adjust eyewear for comfort and proper fit.
• Dispense contact lenses and ensure product quality.

Basic Qualifications

• High School Degree or equivalent
• ABO Certification
• 2+ years in Retail Optical
• Basic computer skills
• Independent and self-motivated
• Strong sales skills and enthusiasm
• Attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

• Associates Degree

Pay Range: $29.21/hour. Compensation includes benefits, potential bonuses, and commissions. Benefits may include health care, retirement, paid time off, and employee discounts.
