Job summary

MacLean-Fogg Company is seeking a Tapping Operator for our Extrusion Sciences site in Savanna, IL. This full-time, hourly role operates on the 3rd shift from 10:30 PM to 7:00 AM, Monday through Friday, with a $2 shift differential.

You will run mechanical equipment, ensure product quality, and perform troubleshooting while reading blueprints and recording all documentation accurately.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in tapping or machine operation.
• Solid experience in setup and operation of machinery with a proven track record.

Responsibilities

• Run assigned mechanical equipment efficiently and safely.
• Ensure all produced items meet quality control requirements.
• Perform moderately advanced troubleshooting of equipment and make adjustments.
• Utilize measuring instruments to verify product specifications.
• Read and interpret blueprints when applicable.
• Complete first piece inspections as needed.
• Complete all necessary documents fully and accurately.
• Follow all Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures.

Role Summary

Tapping Operator performs work associated with the operation of assigned mechanical equipment in a manufacturing environment.

Job Details

• Position Type: Hourly, Full Time

• Work Hours: 3rd Shift, 10:30PM-7:00AM, Monday to Friday

• Pay Range: $16.00 - $19.00/hour, depending on experience

• $2 shift differential for 3rd shift

• Work Location: Extrusion Sciences (ES) - 2551 Wacker Road, Savanna, IL

• Reports to: Production Supervisor

Key Responsibilities

• Run assigned mechanical equipment efficiently and safely

• Ensure all produced items meet quality control requirements

• Perform moderately advanced troubleshooting of equipment and make necessary adjustments

• Utilize measuring instruments to verify product specifications

• Read and interpret blueprints when applicable

• Complete first piece inspections as needed

• Complete all necessary documents fully and accurately

• Perform all other duties as assigned

Qualifications (Required)

• Experience: Typically requires a minimum of 3 years of experience

• Must be able to lift up-to 50 pounds repeatedly

• Required to stand for extended periods

• Must be able to push/pull objects up to 50 pounds
