Job description

Today, we’re one of the largest interior/exterior finish contractors in the U.S., with offices throughout the country and a reputation for excellence.

We are looking to hire several new team members for long-term projects in Omaha, Lincoln, and Columbus, NE. We are offering up to $38/hour for journeymen, plus benefits.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Layout and install drywall beads.
  2. Prepare all drywall surfaces to receive drywall finish products.
  3. Mix, carry and apply joint compound to drywall finishes.
  4. Tape, coat, finish and sand joint compound ready for decoration.
  5. Hand or machine texture walls or ceiling per plans and specifications.
  6. Clean up, protect, move material, tools & equipment.
  7. Erect and dismantle scaffolds.
  8. Conform to all safety rules and regulations of the Company and OSHA standards.
  9. Calculate unit costs based on quantity of material installed, hours worked and labor dollars.
  10. Arrive to work on time at various locations.
  11. Attend and participate in all required company training programs.
  12. Conform to all company policies and procedures.
  13. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements include:

  1. The ability and willingness to learn company safety policies and applicable OSHA standards.
  2. Knowledge and ability to use tools, materials, and equipment necessary for completing finish carpentry projects.
  3. Knowledge of basic mathematics, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  4. Ability to read (blueprints) plans and specifications.
  5. Ability to accurately measure materials.
  6. Ability to follow directions.
  7. Ability to work on ladders, scaffolds, and stilts.
  8. Ability and willingness to work in a team environment, with frequent one-on-one and group activity.
  9. Lifting over 100 lbs. occasionally (doors or studs).
  10. Lifting 50-60 lbs. frequently. Approximately 6-8 times per hour.
  11. Lifting, pushing, pulling 15 lbs. on a regular and constant basis, 2-3 hours per day.
  12. Reaching above shoulder and at shoulder height with the weight of wood studs, metal studs, and various tools on a regular basis.
  13. Stooping and bending to cut wood and metal studs with knife and chop saw.
  14. Standing and walking for 8 hours per day.
  15. Climbing scaffold as high as 3-4 stories, possibly higher, 4-8 times per day when jobs are above ground level.
  16. Full use of fingers and both hands required for this manually dexterous position.
  17. Simultaneous mental alertness and muscular coordination.
  18. Must have vision correctable to at least 20/40 in order to use tools and perform tasks associated with the job.
