Tankwagon Driver

The Tankwagon Driver plays a vital role within the Transportation Division and is responsible for safely delivering fuel to company-operated convenience stores, commercial accounts, job sites, and other customer locations. Deliveries are primarily local and completed on scheduled daily routes. The driver is expected to operate company tankwagon vehicles efficiently and in full compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory standards. This role requires strong attention to detail, adherence to DOT and hazmat requirements, and a commitment to safe fuel handling and professional customer service.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Document and log work/rest periods and miles spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipts
  • Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc.)
  • Operate company-owned trucks
  • Maintain all required certifications required by DOT, FMCSA and OSHA and company safety programs
  • Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures
  • Provide outstanding customer service during delivery and pickup operations
  • Perform any other tasks assigned to support and improve the overall team operation
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Inspecting vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance
  • Report defects, accidents or violations
  • Perform required before-, during- and after-operation user maintenance and provide required reports
  • Meeting delivery schedules
  • Maintain and protect all property in excellent condition
  • Advise the Company of any actions/situations that pose a threat to any employee, customer, or guests
  • Highly skilled in technology, with the ability to learn, implement, and adapt to an ever‑evolving technology landscape
  • Demonstrates hustle in a fast‑paced environment by working with urgency, adapting quickly to changing priorities, and taking initiative to complete responsibilities independently
  • Observe safety and security procedures and uses equipment and materials properly
Qualifications
  • At least 2 years proven work experience as a truck driver
  • Hands‑on experience with electronic equipment and software (GPS, AVL units, CB etc.)
  • Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations
  • No recent moving or driving violations
  • Class A CDL
  • Hazmat endorsement
  • Tank vehicle endorsement
  • Ability to drive a manual transmission
  • Possession of TWIC card (preferred) or ability to obtain TWIC card within 60 days at own expense
