Reagent Chemical & Research, LLC. is hiring a full-time Mechanic in Knox, IN. You will inspect, maintain, test, and repair HCl tanker trailers and related equipment to support safe fleet operations.

Expect 1st shift, 40 hours with potential overtime, weekends, holidays, or on-call work as required. The role covers mechanical, electrical, brake, suspension, valve, piping, and cargo tank work while ensuring compliance with company and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Must read and follow procedures, forms, and specs.
• Pass medical evaluations and respirator fit testing.
• Ability to work independently and with others safely.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work in confined spaces.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair HCl tanker trailers and related equipment.
• Perform cargo tank inspections for leaks, pressure, and thickness as trained.
• Inspect tank linings for blisters or damage and report findings.
• Test valves, piping, gaskets, vents, and related components for leaks.
• Disassemble, inspect, and replace acid‑resistant components and systems.
• Inspect and repair pneumatic brake systems, ABS, airbags, and chassis components.
• Weld, fabricate, and perform structural repairs on steel or aluminum frames as needed.
• Verify proper purge, wash, and release of tanks before hot work or entry.
• Maintain logs, inspection documents, and test records accurately.
